Hi Sumplug,

Iíd give you a hand.

I donít have a van. Are you sure one is needed? I know itís a lot heavier than a FIRE block, but Iíve seen one transported in the back on an Uno

Let us know.

I've had a CB400N motorbike in the back of a Fiat Uno, well, most of it as the front end was hanging out Plus when I was in a band years ago I managed to get sooooo much gear into the back of my old Uno (amps/ guitars/ equipment etc.)

No reason why a Tipo 16V block won't go into a Uno. Make sure you protect the boot floor with some pieces of wood first, and secure the engine to stop it moving about when transported.

The biggest difficulty you will have is physically getting the block/ engine into the car. A couple of strong mates and you should be able to lift it up and over the boot lip. Just don't drop it onto your foot whatever you do

Here's a picture of my Uno with a complete 1.0 FIRE engine and gearbox in the back. With all the ancilleries attached it probably weighs about the same as a Tipo 16V engine.

Re: engine transport

Mission accomplished

The block slotted in and out of my Uno with no problems (few) . Shame I forgot my camera Ė Sumplug took a couple so hopefully he will post one up soon.
