Hi guys - thanks for the warm welcome!! :D

Anyone else in the area, or any of you people want to meetup at some point it would be good. Also after some advice. I have a Multipla at the moment, but since I split up with my b/f I fancy something a bit more sporty. Anyone with something like a fast punto or stilo, I would be glad of some advice.

I have a Stilo Abarth 3 door and could not recommend it to you strongly enough. The engine is glorious and the Selespeed gearbox is cracking fun to go up and down through. Can't beat the number of toys on it either.

Thanks Roja,

Is it really fast though? I will have to try and get a ride in one sometime and try to make my own mind up I guess :I. I've got about 12k to spend once i've sold my ex's house so I think that will be in my price range.

Good to see someone local in here as well. Are there any meetings locally? I guess thats probably the best way for me to find out how good various models are.

Jonna, Im in Stevenage and thanks for the welcome and from everybody else. I haven't many friends around here yet, so it would be good to meet up with any of you lads some time.

I think that it's quick enough. I've had V6 Mondeos and a 3.2 Jag before it and it feels easily as quick as these - Quicker sometimes because you can never fluff a gearchange!!

It's not the most raw of hot hatches as the Stilo is a very cruisy car by design. It does handle though and will take out almost anything else this side of a Scoobie.

I love it although I will probably be putting it up for sale in the next few weeks as I've just got a new job with a company (yawn) Vectra. I don't think I can justify two cars :(

I'm in Welwyn Garden City BTW

As I said above, I've just got a new job with a company car (Vectra unfortunately) and cannot afford to keep two cars. Therefore, my Stilo Abarth is now for sale.

It's 52-reg, 3 door in silver with 14000 miles and all the usual Abarth toys. It's had a service at 12000 and new front tyres at 13000.

Full history, 2 years warranty, AA cover, etc, etc

Looking for offers near £10K

Hi Roja,

Maybe you can give me a ride in your car sometime before you sell it?!! It sounds very fast. I dont think I can buy it tho as I will not have the cash in time. Maybe you and me and some of the others could meet up or something. Have you met any other fiat owners on here?

I have been looking at other cars as well like the new punto 1.8 16v (new), golf gti 1.8 turbo/v5/v6 (2nd hand) and astra coupe/turbo (2nd hand) and am curious which is best. I would like to have another fiat but I am a bit worried about all of those toys that you keep talking about going wrong!!

Let me know if you fancy a meet up and anyone else as well like Jonna etc and I will check my busy girls diary!!

Hi Debs

Your choice of cars:

1. New Punto 1.8 - Can't comment on the drive but I don't like the facelifted version. They've tried too much to copy the Polo!

2. Sporty Golf - Great image but only worth getting if all you want is image. The 1.8T & V5 aren't that quick and are a bit soft. The V6 is real quick but drinks like a Paddy.

3. Astra - One of the asdest looking cars on the road. The turbo is supposed to go very well and all Astras are practical. Put it this way - Look at a pic of an Astra and then a pic of a Stilo. Say no more.

4. Stilo - It has the looks and the Abarth has the go. Plus you cannot beat the toys you get for value for money. Don't worry about what's on the forum about problems - People only bang on about the bad things.

Thought about a Seat Leon?

I'll have to make sure you have the Abarth experience. I have so little free time it is really sad but I'll work something out and let you know, yeah?

Hi Guys,

I'm from Stevenage and currently drive a Punto HGT - 1.8 16V
It is a nice car and comes with really good extras.
My only problem at the moment is I am having my break pads and disks changed as we speak and the higher spec models need different parts.
It has taken me a week to order the parts and is driving me crazy![:(!][}:)]:(

Hi Spam0r,

My friends all say that I am fit, but I dunno if I am!! I am tall, slim and have brown hair and brown eyes.

Roja,

Thanks for the kind offer but I just took a look at your website and you scare me in more ways than you could possibly imagine. I see you have a girlfriend too and I hope you are happy together talking about cars and buses.

PS Chips are for eating[8D]

The first time I know of that I have actually scared anyone!!
