it has had far more problems than my previous cars rover 213s and cav sri.
but still i muist admit i quite like it for some reason lol
my dad has a uno i swear its the most neglected car ever, its used as real load carrier. hasnthad a service in 6 years god knowswhen oil was changed. the engine is the oilest worse looking lump i have ever seen........but you knwo what the dam thing starts and runs everyday and has never broken down. sometimes i just cant belive it lol

T14086 said:Nice car & hope your happy with it,however you cannot compare a punto to a BMW.Of course the BM will be more reliable after it it costs what 3 or 4 times the cost therefore you would expect (and get) reliability.
I think you expected to much from your punto, its a cheap value car and it doesn't pretend to be anything else.It has cheap running costs & its owners benefit from cheap insurance, therefore it is popular with alot of younger folk who cannot afford sky high insurance rates.
A little basic preventive maintenance will keep a punto running for many years and the problems they do have are well known/documented & easily cured/fixed.
paul16sporting said:I'm sorry but i disagree again. The insurance depends on where you live £1700 aint cheap in my opinion, and the CHEAP running costs <Like a gearbox, clutch, exhaust,CV,head gasket> dont seem cheap to me either, but a friend of mine followed suit and got a 1.6 sporting, and he too had nothing good to say about it.I agree that fiat make fast cars, but they are far too unreliable and expensive for my liking.
If i was happy with my fiats it would no doubt be a different story, but unfortunately i'm not, which is why i'm gonna have to change suit for the next car.
Oh well, here in India, Fiats have a reputation for reliability and being sturdily built. It is only the company that has a bad reputation - not helped by the dealers. I have a Petra (Albea for you Europeans) and it seriously rocks.shining wit said:They do not have the reputation as a well engineered, well made, quality product. Whether they are or not is irrelevant, they have a poor reputation because of the points that I mentioned originally.
