Hi, i got a recall letter from fiat to day, they said that the brake pipes on mk1 puntos need extra corrosion protection, they say take my car to fiat garage and the letter, and they will fix any coroded pipes and spray them ( i presume with waxoil)for FREE.
If you didn,t get a letter contact last owner to see if they got it or contact fiat.

I hope they will replace the offending pipes, rather than just "fixing" them ...

What I don't understand is why FIAT (or other manufacturers for that matter) don't use copper brake pipes as standard. A set for my Panda (from Automec) cost me about £35 three years ago. Absolutely corrosion free, and has brass unions too.

I'd say they'll only replace them if there is any corrosion. If not then they'll probably just treat them.
