Probably the same one as the Idea.

Is it just me, or dose in look like the VW bigger Golf????

The 1.4 in the Idea is a 16v, sine it has about 95bhp, so this 8v is just a version to start with. Fiat want the new Punto out to start selling them. They've concentrated on some engines first, and once launched can bring out others. I like the sound of the 1.9JTD, although will it come to the UK from launch?

Dimensions wise there's only 1 which is less than an Idea, the height. Wheelbase is marginally longer, definatly longer body and wider too. It's about midway between Mk2 Punto and Stilo...

Looks wise, it's good, and probably a grower, I know my Mk2 has grown on me. Can't wait to see one in the flesh...

Any knowledge on transmissions? My wife wants an auto, I say semi, so if the 1.9JTd comes with semi-auto I might be able to hold on us changing...

I guess that 130bhp jtd is the version they said that would rival the VRS and the Seat ibiza diesel. Sounds very good

I love its looks, i love the wheels (although i wouldnt love cleaning them )
i love the colour, i just love the car a huge improvement on the punto range imo.

There will be a bigger range of petrol engines to come, look at the range avalible on the current model so theres gotta be more to come....

Also that thing serin pointed out on top of the windscreen is gone

and it's not a rebadged Corsa. There is an awful lot more to it than that...

Even Italiaspeed only put these image up today, after us.

I think your find the diesel engines belong to Fiat and vauxhall are using them as well. Yes its the same chassis but if you've seen the spy shots of the corsa its the same shape but with different features the rear lights are gonna be like the astras and the front is quite different to this puntos.

im finding it very odd that this isnt actually the NEW punto.. think of it more as the punto c-max heh.

they are still selling the mk2.5 punto along side this, this is more of a compliment to them with bigger dimentions etc. maybe the mk2.5 will be in for a small redesign? sort of a mk2.6 with slightly updated styling (grill/slight interior changes, badges etc) to go with this! who knows

Im still not sure on the shape of this one, doesnt really have enough straight lines for my liking! I'll wait till i see it in the flesh until then i still say the mk2 is by far the nicest shape punto so far

I'd prefer to have the current stilo over this new punto. Better looking IMO and better range of engine's...

Last rumors about petrol engines:

At the end of 2006 should be available:

1.4 Turbo Fire 130 bhp
1.4 Turbo Fire 150 bhp

maybe after:

1.6 Turbo 180 bhp

For the last, I also heard about an Abarth-kit with 50 bhp of extra-power (but for this kit, I have some dubts)

Not a lot to do with the Stilo but I've got to say I think the new Punto looks wonderful and if these pics are anything to go by I'd consider chopping the Stilo for this, it is only slightly smaller.
