I wish genuine fiat badges were £5, last time I tried to buy a genuine badge from fiat (standard blue grande punto tailgate badge) the dealership wanted £42 which I later came to understand is about standard pricing across the board for fiat badges

Yes they cost more these days. The £5 ticket relates to 1980s genuine badges.
