Whilst i was on ebay i came across this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=72205&item=7981964824&rd=1

saying it can give a fiat punto, cinq, bravo/a, stilo 40bhp gain for £10?? Looks like rollocks to me? Could or would it actually make any difference to performance?? 40bhp increase; you've gota be joking!!! Or is it goin to be another1 like these resistor/piggy back chip things everywere on ebay(ther so annoyin!)..

just though i show you guys what id found; give me your forts on it! Is it an absolute steal for the money or a load of tosh that is more likely to damage your engine?

Wow, a variable resistor :)
I started off hating those guys that sell a +20BHP MOD for any car on ebay.
Then I looked and saw that they only seem to sell those, no other items in their other auctions. Then I noticed they had a feedback of 1800 and then I multiplied that by £3.99 + 50p postage.
Then I thought wow, genius. ;)

This works in largely the same way as a chip (such as those sold by Superchips) but does not require opening if the ECU. Instead the kit attaches to the wiring which is easily accessible under the bonnet - which in turn leads to the ECU.

This kit makes the ECU supply ever so slightly more fuel to the cylinders and slightly advances the ignition. Together this gives you much more power.

He is right about some piggyback chips that only alter the coolant/O2/MAP sensor output to increase power but I have no idea how he could advance the timing with a variable resistor, there is no way to fool the ecu in to advancing the timing by altering sensor readings you can retard the timing though.:D
