Hello was just wondering how i would go about fitting et15 wheels to my punto mk2 whether spacers or anything is needed or whether it is just not possible
I am also considering banded steels and was wondering what people's personal opinion would be as to whether 14" or 15" banded steels would look better?
thankkk you :)

I'm fairly sure the Punto's standard offset is around ET30. Using (for example) 10mm spacers with ET15 will reduce the ET even further to ET5, so bottom line they'll never work properly. You want to get as close to standard or higher to keep everything balanced, ET40 for example would work with 10mm spacers.

Hope that helps.

ET is the distance of the mounting point from the centre of the wheel in question.

so your ET 15 might fit just fine and dandy if its a narrow wheel. if however it is a very wide wheel you will not be as lucky, what Eklipze3k says is 100% using a spacer will effectively decrease the offset so 10mm spacer will reduce your offset to ET5 which is why crazy VW modifiers do things like shortening axles and cross members to fit those huge porsche wheels with negative offsets.

basically you need to know all the measurements of the whee to see how this compares to the standard fit wheels.

Yeah thank you has helped alot if im honest I had no idea about offset but to fit properly I will need to look at wheels with a close offset or a little bit higher
Thanks :)
