I don't see a thread for new members to use for introductions, so I'll do it here. I'm an American living in Belgium and have a new Idea Emotion 1.9 JTD. The car is nice but not perfect. I'm also on the Fiat Idea Forum in France and I use the same screen name even though my French est loin de parfait (far from perfect). Raton Laveur means Raccoon, my favorite animal. Too bad you can't get the 1.9 in the UK, it's the best feature of the car.

Welcome to the forum :)

I'm not too clued up on the Ideas, but i know the JTDs are good engines! I don't think ive ever seen an Idea on the road, only on garage forecourts.

hey there...welcome :) nice to see more newbies

How powerful is your 1.9?

I quite like the Idea, and think it's a shame that there's only a very limited engine range, when the Punto has a fairly good range.

It's 100 hp, a bit more than the 1,4 petrol. The main difference is in the torque. I've got 260 Nm on hand and it's great. The Punto does not even get this much power in diesel, only 85 and I think the only way to get even that is to be limited to the 3 door version. Not smart, Fiat.

Hello Racoon!

I've only seen two Ideas around my way (Scotland, UK).

Fiat could introduce the JTD in more models and options for the UK market and actually sell more cars but them don't seem to bothered.

Hello Raton Laveur :D

I have driven an Idea, but only as a courtesy car whilst the other car in for warranty work ;) - I think it was a base model, a small-engined petrol model, but it definitely was different inside.

Almost no one else does, either, it seems. After 14 months of production they are only up to 81000 and change. That's not a lot for a mass market car.
