Hey everybody, just had my punto back from the garage. Had to have a new head gasket done, got it quite cheep, theeeeeeen it had no oil serving the cam so he told me to bring it back and he would clear it, thing is my engine doesnt sound as quiet as it used to, sounds chattery like a small van, its not loud but noticable. is this normal???? im thinking of putting redex in the fuel and an oil additive for the engine. anyone else got any ideas?

Reaching out to the specialist and punto nuts.....LOL

Silly mistake by the mechanic has probably ruined the head. The cam runs direct in the aluminium. No oil = picked up bearings and a ruined cylinder head.

Got it sorted, he said it was a bit of sludge blocking the feeds, still sounds like a small van but meh its running and i spent too much all ready. he says the sound is the tapets due to it running dry of oil. anyway, is the oil and petrol additives a good idea?

He's lying if it's an 8v. Chances are the engine is scrap. The additives will just be a further waste of money.
