So I fitted eibach sportlines to my T-Jet recently and while it was up on jacks I noticed my backbox was really rusty and had a hole with a soot trail across the box. Anyway the car is just coming up to 3 years in June and i thought surely thats not what you should expect from a car (i know some of you will have a different opinion) i mean other exhaust places will give a 3 year guarantee so why shouldnt Fiat?
So popped in and saw my local Fiat dealer and straight away 'No sir that is not covered by 3rd year, only major mechanical components' and was promptly quoted the best part of £300 just for the backbox replacement inc. fitting!

Anyway sent Fiat customer care an email stating my plight and without too much persuasion they agreed to replace it as a good will and all i had to do was pay the labour to get a 2 year Guarantee.
A result im sure you'll agree and to be honest I completely expected a NO!

Not the first time either Fiat Customer Care have helped me. BRAVO!:worship:

Not bad :)

Fiat head office customer care isn't as bad as people make out, its just the garages that are the main offenders lol.

My dad had a problem with the instrument panel in his 500, the dealer he took it too was shocking, broke half his panel, didn't fix the problem and marked his dash. They tried saying the damage was done at home and blah, blah, blah......

.....A quick e-mail to customer service and the job was sorted within a week.

As you say, FIAT are a great company, its the dealers that are the issue most of the time.

With all due respect to customer service personnel but I hardly think a handful of people in an office deciding how much of a contribution someone gets (budget allowing) is a measure of how good a company is. Also a dealership can only go by the information supplied to them, poor information = poor service.

Yeah apparently because of the way the exhaust is fitted ie. the exhaust is fitted and then the axle its a bit of a pain as it needs an additional bendy piece of pipe, anyway it was listed as 1.2 units of labour at £40 for 1 unit.
Wish i was on £40 an hour!

T14086 - Agreed, they have only been helpful as i'm not the sort of person to be fobbed off.
