This was also mentioned WAAAAAAAY down there in the X1/9 area, but it seems an issue that should be of interest to the broader Fiat enthusiast audience as well, so I felt it prudent to mention here...
Have you all heard yet? Fiat's plan is to make the "new X" (aka the "X1/99" aka the "spiritual successor to the X1/9") FRONT ENGINE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE!!! :yuck:
This has been confirmed directly to our forum (Xweb) by Fiat themselves, and not some PR guy, this came from the TOP in Italy.
If you agree the "TRUE spirit" of the X1/9 revolved entirely around its MID ENGINE REAR WHEEL DRIVE arrangement and the spectacular "slot car" handling that created, and believe any "Evo X" should remain true to that, then please join your fellow enthusiasts in making that voice heard by Fiat:
http://www.petitiononline.com/xwebx199/petition.html
THEN, GO EVERYWHERE ONLINE that you can find like-minded Italian car, Fiat and/or X1/9 enthusiasts, and tell them to do the same!
If not for your own personal interest, do it to support your fellow Fiat fans!
Peace, -Mac
