I dont think this is a related problem to a 126 but guess it may help if you know the engine layout maybe?

Yesterday my car started to chug while driving. Pushing the accelerator and no getting any power. the throttle cable is fine.

I put some redex into the fuel tank thinking this may clean out the fuel pump etc. Today it started fine and the chugging evolved into losing all power to the engine, it barely turned over.

I noticed that the filter on top of the carb had some how unscrewed and come off along with a hose that connects between the carb and the engine, (next to the oil cap). I have reattached these.

I also noticed that the redex had consequently filled my fuel filter with a super fine deposit. I have cleaned the fuel filter out and fuel passes through the filter just fine. but I now cant get any power to the engine at all. infact it wont even turn over.

Please can anyone make any suggestions??

many thanks

Thanks Rallycinq

I will try shortly, I have been plying around this morning and managed to get it to turn over, but I think its pumping way too much fuel! I took out the spark plugs and they were covered in soot. So I've cleaned and put back in.

It started up again and ran fine for about 5 mins, after putting some higher revs in the engine, it chugged and back fired through the exhaust and the carb.

Is there any way I can slow the rate of fuel being pumped in? (the fuel pump seems fine, taken this off and cleaned.

No it wont turn over at all. I think it may be flooding itself????????
