Barnfind 128 3P Berlinetta

We were lucky enough to find a Berlinetta in a garage that the owner wanted rid of so we bought it.
I love retro cars so this is right up my street and from a bit of reading it sounds like these cars were pretty quick back in their day.
I also read that they are eligible for historic rallies - does anyone know if that is true??
Ours is a 1978/79 model.

If anyone can point me in the direction of some more info on this model or tell me anything interesting I'd really like to hear it.

Here are a couple of photos:

It seems pretty tidy to me. Theres a few obvious bits of filler but it's certainly not a rotbox.
No idea what the Roo Bar is in aid of - I guess the previous owner decided to accessorise it a bit. After a bit of reading - it seems to be missing a spoiler as well...

Can't really tell from those pics, but it looks better than a 31 year old car has a right to. I would have expected to see some corrosion around the front turrets which look to be clean. Are there rubber plugs/bungs in the door jambs and elsewhere that would indicate it had been treated with Zeibart or Waxoyl?

I'll look in my lock-up and see if I have a catalogue I can scan for you. No promises though.

Thanks for your replies.

I used the term 'Barnfind' a bit loosely. It was more a 'Garage-find' that had clearly been well loved. I believe it spent part of it's life in the South of France so that might explain why it hasn't succumbed to as much rust as some others have... I haven't checked for rubber bungs but I will give it a look.
It's definately got a bit of filler in it though so I guess that could be hiding a multitude of sins...

Will be eligible for hysterical rallying, but you'll need to lose the sunroof and put a steel one back on. Finding a new roof could be difficult.

Cheers

Re: Barnfind 128 3P Berlinetta

Well that was the shortest lived project in living history.

Due to a ****ty letter from the council accusing my mate of operating a business from his house he now has to shift all his abandoned vehicles from on and around his property...

I guess his neighbours weren't big Fiat fans.

It is now on eBay if anyone is interested...

They are nice cars. I drove one when I owned my Fulvia -- the Fulvia was better, but the P3 was close. There was a race and rally series for them (and some other FIATs of that era), so there may be some tuning/strengthening ideas out there.

I don't know if you've seen this already, but stumbled across this advert for a FIAT 132 further on in the forum. I think it's in Italy, but look what's in the background

Is that a 3P?

Re: Barnfind 128 3P Berlinetta

Hi Beardy,

Sadly it is not a 3p but an earlier model launched in 71 (128 coupe) with an 1,100 engine as standard and the more powerful 1,300 was an option.
I believe the 3p was similar from the door posts forward.

Re: Barnfind 128 3P Berlinetta

Did you manage to sell it on ebay?

I hope you did well. If it didn't sell, what sort of money are you requiring?
