has anyone got any idea what noise it makes when your engine mounts have gone? When I accelarate sharpley it makes a sort of clunking noise, its especially bad when I wheel-spin :D

It doesnt matter if it is though because my car is still under warrenty, I think the exhaust is blowing too. Would the dealer I bought the car from fit a magnex system for free if the exhaust needed replacing, to save them buying a FIAT part?

But surely if the exhaust is knackered and they are going to have to replace it and I say 'while your at it, save yourself from buying a new system, fit this instead' Its going to save them money isnt it?

Its got to be worth a try, Im gonna ring them later today. I'll keep you posted.

ah, you mean you already have the magnex exhaust? if so, then it is worth a go. i thought you meant get them to replace your blown one with a magnex - at their expense.

The exhaust and clunking may be related. If the rear engine mount goes, as they often do, it allows too much engine movement and overstresses the exhaust, normally taking out the flexi pipe.

If you need a new flexi and end up paying for it yourself, don't pay Kwik-Fit prices and shop around. I got mine for £35.

Too see if you engine mount is knacjered, pop the bonnet, grab the engine and rock it, if it clunks then yes one of thems gone, 99% it'll be the rear mount.

Yeah, sorry Donz...didnt make that bit clear. Im thinking of buying a new exhaust system and if mine has gone and I can get it fitted for free then I might as well buy the exhaust sooner rather than later. I was gonna buy some lowering springs next but if I can get the exhaust fitted for free then I'll get that first.

I'll give the engine a good old rock when i get back from work....remind me to let it cool down first though! If the mounts are gone then I'll call the dealer about getting it fixed. I'll pop the question then! Keep you posted.
