Depends on the deal when it was bought.
If there is a five year warranty there will be paperwork to support it.
No paperwork, no warranty, don't believe a vendor with no paperwork.
However, the 4th and 5th years, are usually an MBI rather than a warranty, and have loads of conditions.

Was reading this guys woes about his fiat warranty (below) and looks poor to me, also do they insist on the services been done at the ripoff dealers?
"I would check the small print of the Fiat warranty very carefully! One of my siblings had a Punto that allegedly had a three year warranty. The third year was provided by the dealer network.
Several trivial faults were covered and fixed. Clutch failed (broke up) at about 1 year/12000 miles - Not Covered. Stereo/CD (built into dash) went wrong about 6 months later - Not Covered - cost of the order of £125 to fix it. At about 2-1/2 years old the ECU connector was rotted out and failed - Not Covered - massive bill for new loom and all the labour to fit it. Also the wiper switch broke up, but I fixed that for her. All in all it was an expensive three years for a car supposedly covered by a warranty. "
I had a autoprotect warranty on my landrover and could get it serviced anywhere.

How has any of that got to do with servicing at dealers
The warranty is valid (as per EU legislation) as long as the car is serviced on time in accordance to the service schedule, using genuine Fiat parts at a VAT registered garage.The problems descibed above are obviously not covered. Clutch is wear and tear, it is covered by no manufacture warranty similar to brakes. Stereo cover lasts 12 months, same as any normal hi fi you would have in your house.
Regarding the servicing at dealers was a seperate question and has nothin to do with the text i pasted in from another website which wasnt my words.
The clutch plate is usually not covered because it wears but the rest of clutch cannot be classed the same otherwise the whole car is wear and tear isnt it?

on the bravo... as i was informed by fiat:
the 3 year warranty applies to all cars no matter how many owners it has etc... (with the obvious 2 year/1 year split)
the 5 year is only there if it is under 1 owners name

So if i was say to buy a 2007 bravo i wouldnt have any warranty on it, sounds weird i thought 5 years meant 5 years.
Who get the warranty? u or the car, who needs the servicing u or the car? the CAR of cause, five year warranty on a car should mean five year warranty on a car who ever owns it.

The 5 year warranty is likely to cover the same or less as the 3rd year anyway. (Not a lot incase you are wondering), I'm sure you will be back again complaining that X, Y and Z aren't covered. If you are that easily put off, you would be best buying a nice Hyundai or Kia with their extended warranty.
I have had manufacture warranties and extended warranties before i usual no what they cover, the warranty will end up been a big decision on my buying my next car as im unemployed at the moment and in the process of selling my gass guzzlering landrover to buy something smaller and the reason im asking a lot of questions is i need to be sure before i purchase what could be my last near new car.
what bravo you thinking of getting?
After looking at seat leons fr 150's was put off by some issues and went onto the bravo's as i could get a lot newer car and better interia and features for less money, so here i am.
The only cars am interested in are the diesels for the fuel econ so the multijet 150 is what i am looking at.

The 5 year warranty wasn't offered on ANY 07 plate Bravos. It came in a short while after launch, starting on either 57 or 08 plate models. I don't think anything of 09 reg or later will have 5 years either. It was a fairly short term thing. Thank God.
Basically a small proportion of Bravos have it, it seemed to be subject to a list of conditions as long as your arm - some people had to pay list price to get it, some had to buy the car on finance, it just went on.
The whole thing was a complete balls up on behalf of Fiat UK & unless the Bravo you look at has a letter with it from Fiat UK, which states the registration number of that car, take it youve got just 3 years.
