I'm looking for some advise. I have a Fiat Punto 04 plate and for around 3 - 5 months, I have been unable to use 3rd and 4th gears, I get a grinding noise if I try to select them gears and they just pop straight back out. It was irritating but i kinda got used to jumping from 2nd to 5th, cud this have caused the cable to snap?? Last Friday I was going into 2nd gear and heard something "snap" . The car is now stuck in 2nd gear and the gear stick is all loose feeling and I can only go between 1st and 2nd gear. i popped along to the local garage but he didnt have time to look into it in great details he mentioned that the gear connection cable may have snapped. So... Its going into the same garage tomorrow morning. Just wondering if anyone know a rough cost of replaing the cables and will this solve the problem of not being able to select 3rd or 4th gear or is this totally diff? any help would be appreciated as I dont want to pay over the odds!!
