I brought a ulysse 2 weks ago and had nothing but problems when i drive it sometimes its a smooth drive but other times it does the kangaroo and looses all power then after a few minutes can be ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i had the ecu read and that has no faults and their is no lights on the dash so i have replaced the cat,,,,the plugs and leads,,,,,then fuel filter ,,, but still doing the same thing can anyone help the problem seems to happen more if i have left the car running to warm up then it is worse please help

no there is no lights on at all...........i did put it on a engine managment system to see if any faults registered but came back no faults ............

tends to do it if you leave the car running to warm up then drive but if you drive from cold it drives ok

No experience of that engine, but I'd be inclined to look at the lamda sensor first. A search of the net will show ways to test them with a multimeter.

if i was sensor would it not show up on ecu ?

If the lambda itself is faulty, probably not. The other one to check is the TDC (aka Crank) sensor.

may sound stupid but check the connectors on the battery are nice and tight. this happend to my punto and it turned out one lead on the + side was a bit loose. so as i was driving it was tuching and not tuching due to vibrations in the road and it caused the kangaroo. worth a check anyway.

also is the water ok in your cooling system? when i changed a thermostat on my car i dizzylie forgot to bleed it so it had traped air in the cooling system wich also caused it to kangaroo.

i am open to trying anything that might work so i will change the coolant ....the conections on batterie are all good .........thanks

no still no joy i think its time to take it back to the garage i brought it from as i only brought it 3 weeks ago...........

should still be in warrenty if you only got it 3weeks ago. so the garage should fix it. take them any recipts that you have from what you've baught to fix things yourself and they should give you the money for that. threten them with legal action and youl get anything out of them
