Hi people,

I have a Fiat Seicento Sporting 1.1, its only 3 years old and i've had it 6 months. I hadn't driven it for a week and came to give it a quick run tonight when I couldn't get it moving very fast at all. It sounds or feels like the handbrake is still on, even though it is pushed down and the light on the dashboard is not lit up.

Is there anything I can do without having to take the car to a garage to get this tedious problem sorted? I only drove about 800 metres in total this evening as I couldn't get it moving fast and it was a strain even in 3rd gear.

Anyone experienced this problem before? Is it rust?

thanks for any replies! :bang:

rear brakes are apperntly prone to seizing on the Sei.

My Dad's Escort Gti does it too. He sorts it himself now after the first time when the nice man from the AA shown him how to solve it by whacking the drums with a rubber mallet until they move. hehe.

hello mate.

My cousins cinq had the same problem - he found out it was the both the rear wheel cylinders had seized. Hope this helps diagnosing it - GOOD LUCK..
