FREE to try Fiat diagnostic software

re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Ok guys,
I just checked all the data that I have for the selespeed ECU. And yes, I have the actuator test/calibration information. I will try to include selespeed support in a new release of FiatECUScan by the end of this week.

LOL!!! Now that's customer service! :D A nice donation will be coming your way! (y)

re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

just ordered my cable, not 100% sure of support for my ecu yet, but willing to have a bash, will report back with any progress & screenshots etc later on. Yani this rocks mate, well done and keep up the great work.

re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Dropping the FIFO buffers down to the minimum can help with connection issues, it in the driver properties for the virtual com port in device manager.

To test the serial side is working okay connect the interface to the car, open hyperterminal (at any speed) and if the device is powered when you will get the characters echoing back. If not the KKL interface isnt getting any power.
Thanks for the tips Dan (y)

I had no joy at all with hyperterminal but changing port properties did the trick

Set the USB transfer size to 64 bytes for Tx & Rx and also set latency to 1mS

As I use a T23 Thinkpad (looking a bit slow but it has a nice hardware D9 port) I dumped the A/V program completely to speed it up a bit and the program worked brilliantly.

What a superb piece of software

Thanks Yani :)

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi guys,

I released a new version today.
Selespeed CFC208F and CFC209F gearboxes are now supported.
I have not tested the calibration functions because I don't have where to test.
So, please give me feedback when you test the actuator and calibration functions.

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi Yani,

Just tried this, it connects to the CFC-209 but does little else. When you do the actuator tests you cant actually hear the pump, and also when the EOL routine is performed, the computer seems as if its connected but nothing happening on the car side.

When they did this for me at the garage you can heat the actuators and the car running through the gears etc..

Ill have another go with it later and see how greggers gets on with it.

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

thread would help a lot more people if it was in LTF then?
It might but that would be entirely down to Yani (owner of the software) who just might be taking this the commercial route after testing :chin:

Why not PM him to see if he's amenable to more general sharing/testing?

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi,
I just posted an updated version today. It should fix the connection problems that some users are experiencing - connect and then immediately disconnect, empty iso code.

I don't mind moving this thread to LTF.
Is there something that I could do to move it, or the moderators have to do it?

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi,

Is there any way this software will work with a 2001 Barchetta? I can't find any software that supports my car.

Your software can connect to the ECU is I select the Brava 1.8 profile, but most of the options and reading don't work. Again, great software, can't believe it's free

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi,

I posted a new version today - FiatECUScan 1.5.
It supports airbags now.
I also added Bosch EDC16/CF4 and Marelli IAW 5NF support.

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi There Yani

I have a Fiat Punto 1.2 3dr - x 2000

I've tried the software with 2 cables, one will connect but comes up with an invalid ISO code/number, i've selected the Punto 1.2 8v 99' (as its an 99 - 03 model),tried all its options, have also tried 03 version and no luck

The 2 Connectors i have to use, both OBD2, right one connects but has error, left wont even connect

Just To Show there is an error light

Screen Shot - Software says No errors

Once it connects it says Invalid ISO Code

Detail It does bring up

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

If your car has a TRW steering ECU, you need to modify the cable to enable it to connect.

There's instructions for it on Yani's web site here:

http://fiatecuscan.net/HowToUse.aspx

Dave.

is that why it isn't able to see the problem with my steering then - i just need to solder a small cable between pins?

also what does TRW mean?

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

I don't know if that's why it doesn't register the problem, just that Yani says to bridge the pins to connect to TRW steering ECUs. If you haven't already done that, then it could be the reason

Dave.

Re: FREE Fiat diagnostic software

Hi,

All mk2 Puntos use Delphi Electric Steering, which is not supported by FiatECUScan.
BTW It is connected to the CAN network and there is nothing on pin 9.

From your photos I see that you are connectining to your engine's ECU and it has no errors. You get Invalid ISO Code error because I do not have any info about this ISO code.
