I wonder if anyone could advise/help? I am putting a new clutch into my Grandsons MK1 Punto. The existing release fork assembly is ruined and I have one on order, together with a new clutch assembly. There was lots of mangled metal inside the bell housing and I cannot quite work out if the clutch release bearing is fitted to a "carrier", and then fitted to the fork, or, does the bearing fit straight onto the fork? Any advice would be much appreciated, especially guidance on where I might be able to find the bearing carrier and it's part number. Any advice much appreciated.

Many thanks for that information. I was a bit puzzled because the Haynes manual seems to show a fairly large carrier (for the release bearing) but, now that I have got the clutch kit, together with a new clutch fork, I can see how the bearing, supplied with the clutch kit, clips on to the fork.
Advice much appreciated
