Which is the same as avoiding certain Fiat dealers which is what Sammi is trying to achieve right? Not only that, do you not place the blame of that on BK? After all, they are responsible for the poor product you're getting there hence leading to you avoiding it.

Yes, true - however I have only ever used one FIAT dealer, so can't really compare to others, only read other peoples' experiences.

I suppose one reason I use a smaller BK is that my meal is freshly cooked whilst I wait - the bigger drive-thru tends to be less fresh! Again, only been to the bigger drive-thru twice, BUT that is enough for me to avoid it - I don't blame BK as such, just feel I get a better meal elsewhere.

But this is what i'm trying to say:

Mcdonalds is mcdonalds, employees are payed directly by Mcdonalds UK.

Fiat technicians/all staff are not employed/paid by Fiat auto uk, they are employed/paid by the holding franchise i.e myself Currie motors.

I have to work as Currie motors wants because they pay the wage, so ALL dealers are different in the way that they operate- therefore this is where the Difference is made.

To group ALL dealers together and make the generalisation that they are all bad is wrong in my opinion, especially as not everyone has visted every dealer going.

Don't judge a dealer by anothers bad practice, and expect them all to be the same.

Good job I haven't made that judgement :)

Anyway, I think enough has been said on this thread - many thanks for the insight into how a dealership works.

sorry fiattech although you hvae made some good points i still wouldnt trust ANY fiat dealership to touch my car, it would be silly of me.

I was told they it was unlikely that they took my wheels off to do the work they did, how can they change brake pads and free up a ceased caliper if the wheels are still on the car - must be some advanced technology they were using, having my car scratched by THEM in two different places, if i wanted work to this standard i would have used a backstreet garage who would have done a better job imo!

I use another forum who is just a coupe forum and when i told them i took it to fiat they were dont trust fiat with your car, never take your car to fiat.

There are many people that feel that way from all over so thay all cant be wrong can they - imo its probably most fiat garages are poor with the odd good one.

You say you wrk at good one but you wouldnt be telling us it was a poor garage now would you, you may think i am being harsh but i have never used fiat beore for work nor will i use them again!!!!!

phoned fiat up today, the car is going in on wednesday to have the paint repaired where they had damaged it.

I dont know if anyone remembers when my car was scratched a while back on a car park?? well i called fiat and got through to the service dept and told the guy who answered the phone that i was told to call after xmas to have the car booked in for the repair of the damage they did to my car, so he asked who was dealing with it and i gave him the name and he said ah he isnt with us am afraid so i told him that it was arranged as compansation for me having to have a day off work next wednesday ( ;) )that the scratch on the body work would be done - the guy on the phone said no problem if that was arranged then i will make a note of it on your job sheet :D

So i get my scratch done for free now :D

Just stick them on and say "they need to be painted too, some idiot poured petrol over them and now they looked like that!"

The golden rule with Coupe's is:

Unless you have absolutely NO other option, Don't take your coupe to a FIAT garage. They have surprisingly limited knowledge of the car, and you are much better off with a specialist that actually knows the car.
Despite FIAT manufacturing the car, they know f*ck all about fixing it 99% of the time. I suppose it boils down to the fact that theres only a few thousand knocking about and thus they don't get to work on them as much as the more mainstream cars like the punto.
