As we are all owners of a Fiat (or two or three in some cases :p )

I have been an owner of a couple of Fiat models over the last twenty two years and absolutely love the companies (not ALL I might add) vehicle ranges they have brought out since I became a devout follower and their earlier models.
Obviously one of Fiat's criticisms back in the day was the 'Rust' issue, but the company eventually took that on board and have more or less resolved that issue. I have since then seen Fiat over time pull themselves up and stave off virtual bankrupcy to become a major force to be reckoned today with Safety records and emissions exceeding standard requirements and a number of 'Car Of The Year Awards' and Rally Championship victories.

For me I think Fiat give us cars that are vibrant, customizable, cute, wacky in some cases and sexy even. The designs are unique, bold and are very rarely do they copy.
If anything in majority of cases it's the other way round! However the good looks the innovation and investment in new technologies usually set Fiat apart from the rest of the pack and you get extras in your vehicle which some manufacturers would make you pay extra for. Fiat have always manged to keep things interesting and will continue to do so, otherwise...why would you bother owning one ? You might aswell go and buy a Ford Fiesta,or BMW,Merc or a Jap car go and be one of the crowd. You'll notice that it does not matter how old a Fiat is it will still turn heads in crowds on motorways etc.

Fiat are'nt just cars, they're a statement! Simplistic, individual, nippy, affordable,a pleasure to drive and COOL :)

So my question for you FF'rs is as the title says...

What is it YOU love about Fiat ?

What do I love about FIAT? Well, for a start they don't make a stupid SUV (we can ignore the Sedici, that's not a FIAT)!

For me, FIAT's most admirable trait are their honesty and lack of social pretension. Well, at least until the nuova 500 came along... ;)

These kind of topics are always cropping up. I'll voice my thoughts.
One of the main things I love about Fiat's is their design and style, in fact, a majority of Italian cars are styled beautifully and the designs (both interior and exteriror) seem to have so much thought put into them - look at the MK1 Punto's that started off the craze for the "upper headlight clusters" which we see on cars like the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Zafira's, none of which ever used to be!

And it's all down to one man - Giorgetto Giugario, jack of all trades, or "designer of all things Italian" as I like to refer to him as. The styling and design of Fiats has had so much effort put into them, which makes them stand out from any other car - the likes of the 500 and Multipla are prime examples!

And hey, no Fiat looks as ugly as a Renault Megane or as fat as a Volkswagen Passat, well maybe the Multipla, but that was meant to be!

That's my reason for liking Fiat's and always will be.

I think a FIAT's greatest weakness is its greatest strength and this is what I love - the drama of irritations and admiration.

A FIAT is not just a car that gets you from A to B, it is something that you really love when all things are working well and you are in a place you love (good B-road for me). Then the next day, it gets in one of its moods and annoys the **** out of you.

The drama of it is what I love - the fact that it's never boring.

God, that was preachy :p

I began to love Fiat because a mate owned a Cinquecento Sporting, at first i wasnt to into it much. After seeing the enjoyment he got out of the car though i began to like it, soon after that i wanted my own and the parents bought me a 900sx. It wasnt the best car but i thought it was ace. After that i got into a bit of trouble but when it came to getting another car i wanted a sporting like his, Red it was, ex bought it for me until i could pay her back the £300 from a dude at quick fit. My mate then introduced me here Fiatfourm I joined Fiat Forum back in 2005 (just read my first post from 25-08-2005 haha 10J :p). When coming on here more i was like... WOW loads of people with the same interest as me. Peoples who have love for there FIATs like me. This got me more attached reading treads etc, i slowly developed a slight obsession with them. I wouldnt say all Fiats are to my taste but peoples love for them makes me the FIAT lover i am today so cheers FF! (y)

I dont really like much about Fiat at all... especially Dealer Servicing costs... I digress...

The cars they design & assemble (note not "build" ) sell for not much money and TBH I beleive that is the main driver for most peoples ownership.

However, that isnt the bottom line, the bottom line is that they are cheap, look good and can go extremely well, I will add that reliability has been excellent with my current particular car.

I love my Stilo, and part of that is because everyone thinks they are p1sh compared to a Focus or a Golf! So they ain't too common on the road, and the 3-door is a truely pretty car. I often have the need to glance out my office window and have a wee look at my car lol.

Fiat customer service, well I put that down to Fiat using crap dealerships like Arnold Clark, where customer service comes second and Profit comes first.

My stilo has been 100% reliable in that it has never failed to get me to my destination, it has cost me some money inbetween though lol.

Alot of people have already summed it up, but I love the ingenious (sp?) features. Take the headlamps going off with the ignition for instance. Never a flat battery! (y)

Also, something that happened last week summed it up!

My Stilo, not really high spec'ed, but has a 6 speed gearbox and now cruise control that I've retro-fitted. Had the college snob asking about it last week. Trying to put it down compaired to his 2002 Audi A3. He sat in the driver seat and questioned everything.

Oh its got front fog lamps he say

Yes I say

Its also got a 6 speed gearbox and cruise control he says

Yes I said again

OMFG he said. I'm speachless. I always though you and your cars were a heap of ****e.

Hmmmm, its also got follow me home headlamps I say.

He walks away sulking then, as his Audi has none of these.

The phrase I always use is 'Alot of car, for not alot of money'. Especially for the 2nd buyer who buys their fiat when its a few years old.

Good story (y) I know a guy who has a Punto Mk2 Sporting, it was out of commission for a little while so he drove his sisters Audi A3. Even after driving the Audi for 10 months he told me 'I do'nt know what it is but I STILL love drivin my Sporting!' he got it fixed and he's back to driving that again, guess that's another point for the Fiat camp :D

Damned!!I thought I had posted in this thread some days ago , but obviously sth went wrong!Well , what I said was that despite the fact that I'm no FIAT fanatic(as I'm a BMW one) , what I love about em is their style , their value for money , and the fact that they always look modern and up to the time(take a Punto as an example). The other thing that's nice about them is that they have this 'Italian Brio" meaning that their engines are very fast in revving and generally , though they're not necessarilly the sportier cars , even the cheap ones do have sth sporty in their DNA.
I wouldn't say that owning a FIAT is a statement especially for the cheap ones (Puntos , seis, Cinqs) as I've seen fair enough people buying them just because they're cheap to buy , run and maintain.

Features..features...features: My Fiat Linea has umpteen number of innovative features, many of them for the first time in India, which the Indian, Japanese, Korean and American competitors' models do not have them in that segment:
  1. Fantastic ride & handling because of tank-like build
  2. Safety features like air bags, ABS/EBD, FPS, automatic central locking when the speed exceeds 20 kmph
  3. Blue&Me with voice commands & media player with USB
  4. Programmable 'Follow Me Home' & 'My Car'
  5. Desmodronic foldable key with remote control
  6. Double crank prevention system
  7. Anti-theft engine immobilizer with rolling code
  8. Value for money pakage
The tragedy is many of these features are not known to the sales executives of the dealership!
