Hello there!

I'm a newbie to Fiat Forum but in desperate need of your expert help!

I recently bought a nice, shiny new chrome gear stick knob from good old eBay, received it a few days ago and its a top quality product and everything's great with it.

But when I came to install it, there was no way I could remove the original, facotry fitted gear knob. I have removed the gaiter and can't find any sort of clip or screws to remove it - I spent over an hour looking! :bang:

I have a 53-plate Mk2b Punto 1.2 16v Active Sport.

I am aware there are other threads of the same topic, but none give a definitive answer on how to remove the old one whilst not breaking it! I really need to keep it so that I can put it back on when I come to sell the car on!

Any help will be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers for the link, just wondering if there is any way of getting it off without destorying the gear knob?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks.

unfortuneatly with most fiats (some have to be chopped, cut, hacksawed off) it appears you do have to destory or at least certainly damage them im afraid, judging by the comments made in the guide from some members this appears to be the case with your gear knob also
