Hi all, I'm new to the forum.

We're on holiday at the moment and this is the first time I've needed to use the outlet socket in my Bravo to re-charge something.

Imagine my dismay when my phone charger wouldn't fit into the onboard socket! Same for my TomTom charger too!

Am I missing something here? Or is this a problem suffered by other members?

If so, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards - Shaun

My TomTom charger fits... I've heard of other less common devices not fitting the power socket correctly but never a tomtom.

Thanks for reply.

Just tried the TomTom cable again and it doesn't fit. Again, neither does my phone. This is not good.

Any advice really, really appreciated.

Regards - Shaun

What model tomtom? Do you have a multimeter to chek the socket is live - or try the compressor if you have a fix n go kit.

I don't think the problem is an electrical fault. The problem is more to do with the plugs on my phone & tomtom. What I mean by this is when plugged in to the onboard socket, my plugs don't seem to fit correctly.

Do you mean they fit slightly losely? I think they're meant to, tbh - all my junk seems to fit a little less than snug.

Stating the obvious, but are you trying to charge them with the igntion on or off? On my (admittedly old) Marea the socket only works with the ignition on, which almost got me when I bought it having been used to Ford's which are always live.

Yes, they do feel loose when fitted. I've also tried with the ignition on, and still the same. It seems to me that the socket in the Bravo simply won't accept the plugs on my stuff. Don't know why???

Not experienced this - not owning a Bravo or a TomTom currently, but I have found some times charging plugs are a bit weighty and don't sit right in the socket. I got over it by getting a 'flying lead' adaptor giving multiple sockets, was less than a tenner from Halfords. Plug this into the power socket, sit the adaptor somewhere handy and plug the charger into this may work to get a square fit.

Thanks for the advice. I will try this.
