Wow that is extremely woeful journalism! I mean, every single FIAT stereotype is there. Although I have a feeling he's just written that to get a reaction.

The comments show not everyone is so ignorant though!

The new Punto is pretty, but I worry. Thinking back to 1978 I remember someone I worked with got a Supermiafiori - and he quickly renamed it a Crappymiafiori.

What a joke that man is...this statement especially...what?? Do the cars share a single component?

And now attempting to pour oil on the troubled waters...

I don't think I've ever seen anything like it, not the original blog or this sort-of 'clarification'. He's clearly entitled to his opinion of cars, but should any paid journalist present an article like this? Do I suspect someone senior at the magazine forced this addendum? The implications of dubiuos timing regarding the MINI First perhaps struck home...

Everyone likes their ego massaged... and having his blog full of angry Fiat fanatics has obviously upset Mr Ruppert, resulting in this rather unexpected 'clarification'.

Of course he still isn't excused for being a tabloid style muppet. Sorry I mean jornalist. Oh that's just a little joke by the way, incase I'm set about by the James Ruppert Appreciation Society.

...James Ruppert Appreciation Society...

You reckon there is one? :D

Funny, I used to think he talked alot of sense about Bangernomics (a phrase he may have coined) but this piece has left a bad taste. I'm sure all of us could come up with three friends who have had problems with the same make of car, but posting our opinion would be no better than someone down the pub.

On that subject, he reckons he has recommeded FIATs in the past, yet won't spend his own money on them; not really a recommendation then is it?
