FIAT doesn't know how lucky it was to get off the GME hook.
Opel/Vauxhall cars tend to be ugly and unconfortable. If the response was to make them more like FIATS, there would be no point in having seperate brands. On the other hand, I'm sure that FIAT could learn a few things about build quality from Opel.
SAAB hasn't made a profit in 20 years. Although there is some commonality with Opel, they can't keep going forever like that. It's time to pull the plug and Fiat would have been the bad guy for doing it. Let someone else take the heat.
So there's some Russian money involved with Magna? I thought they only wanted a manufacture as a sure source of future sales of its components. I don't know about the UK, but if you see fuel stations with the name LUK, those are also Russian.
