Is this safe, i dont no what it is but its for my daughters car and i dont want to take chances with this if its dodgy.

a space saver is just a small tyre (like a motorbike tyre really), you don't exceed 80kmh or 1000miles on it as it's only temporary. it means it uses less boot space, should always be put on the back axle of the car. what car is it for?

as above. Most modern cars have space saver tyres which is under the boot lining. If you are after a wheel which is for long term then dont get one. These are thinner than normal wheels and arent meant for heavy usage!

You can see the big difference in this picture below

the car is a fiat punto active sport 8v 1242. I got it last week for my daughter but doesnt have a spare tyre.
the tyres on it just now are 185/55 R15 H82 so maybe it wont be a good idea,i dont no what was in the boot before.
any help appreciated.

When I got my Panda the space saver was one of the first things to be replaced (y)

I found a full size tyre on fleabay where the seller had changed wheels a week after buying the car - so my current spare is ALMOST new :D :D

Does anyone no what would be in the fiat punto active sport 8v 1242 boot when its new.
Theres a couple of peices of plastic which looks like it ties down a wheel of some kind and then another peice that goes on top of the first bit.

thanks for your help,i got one at the scrappy today, the guy says its new,he went out his way to find a good one knowing it was for my daughter,he also got the tools and jack from a car that had never used them aswell which i didnt need but was a nice thought.
all for £25, got some spare tools now i'll put in the hut incase any get lost.
thanks
