everyones telling me i dont need my insurance.
I aint got it yet cus i have only just insured the car. Want to tax it but i cant if i need the insurance. Do i defo need it?

Yes - though some post offices will accept a printed email insurance certificate if you hit lucky (Bloxwich was one of 'em last time I needed to tax) (y) If you don't have a renewal form, you can use the V5. If you don't have the V5 you need to pay a visit to the DVLA office.

And the ***** will charge you £25 for a replacement V5 before issuing tax, as I found out on Monday even though V5 was misplaced due to extreame circumstances

no excuses for misplacing, that document should only see the light of day maybe once a year on tax renewal

Think £25 is too less of a charge, should be double, maybe three times that, would stop people 'misplacing' them and people would take more care of it
