Looks like a fantastic car, I hope they make it and I hope it's a success. That website has got to be joking - 180bhp in the 500 while the much bigger punto gets 130hp. I don't think so, in fact 7 different engines in that tiny engine bay seems les than likely, I mean how many does the new panda have 2? 3?

I just hope that Fiat take the opportunity too build a true charismatic small car.Personally, I would like to see a direct competitor to the Smart car.But looking at the dimensions that are quoted.It's going to be a bigger car than the Seicento? So it's going the same way as all other cars,another case of everything bigger than everything else! :bang: You would think as roads become more congested, & space is more of a premium that manufacturers would build smaller cars not bigger ones! :bang: I just hope they don't sell out & build another blandola euro box

God I hope this is REALLY going to be produced now as it's been on and off the cards for about 18 months now. I'll b able to retire my cinq and reserve it for show use only if these come out.
I'm going to buy a copy of Auto Express - and have a copy of another car mag from about a year ago with the first announcement that it was going to be produced. Fiat just better book their ideas up and realise that this is going to be a great little car.
Don't think they can make it any smaller due to EU saftey regs but it still looks great bigger than the Sei or not.
I'm defo gonna buy one but want to wait till the Abarth version comes out whenever that'll be - 2008?! First I heard about the Abarth was that it was going to be 1.6 and over 120bhp - rival to be Mini Cooper but recon like all car manufacturers these days Fiat will chicken out and make a much more conservative Abarth which will be a real shame.
Oh I shall wait with baited breath for this but I really really hope it is released

tis lookin pretty good... but i have to say i prefer the old skoll squarer cars! pretty much like the cinq hehe.
however i do think this is much like the mx5, very much a womans car no matter how fast it goes! but then again that is just my opinion!

get this - a new 1.4 litre turbo unit with at least 150bhp is going in.
the old punto GT had a similar spec engine and went like a bomb.
in a car the size of the cinque and sei, this little upstart will really shift and is sure to embarass lots of bigger more powerful motors i'm sure.
its the sort of engine the old sportings should have had (plus the abarth badges of course not just bodykits).
start saving peeps-this car is bound to cause a repeat of the demand outstripping supply situation of the original cinquecento sporting back in 1995-1996.

lol, if it does have 140bhp, then it'll come very close to being the fastest hot hatch. I would recon it'll weigh around the same as an early golf 16v, and they have 139bhp as standard, (I say this as new cars are rarely lighter than their predecessors!) and with that kind of power to weight It would almost tempt me into buying a brand new car? but maybe not.
I must admit I do agree a bit on how "original" it is, but then again it has huge arches?
