...!

...a marriage of 60's GT-car with 00's budget-car - why?!

...the Dino engine is worth about five times the entire Punto in good condition

...just buy a FIAT Coupe from the 90's - half the price and most of that retro Coupe feel without the drawbacks

If you actually have the Dino engine, fair enough (show us some pics!), and you should consider putting it in something like my 124 Spider. In fact, send it to me on a pallet and I'll do it for you :)

a RWD 2.0 V6 triple carb mk2 punto with 160bhp. :chin:
or do you mean the 2.4 V6 with 180bhp?

personally i'd go for the 2.0 because it is easier to find and cheaper to buy and alloy so its lighter, plus it can hit 200bhp with a few mods.

i'd assume the total cost of the project to be around £10,000-15,000. the engine will cost a few grand, and converting to RWD requires MAJOR modification to the car, requiring many man hours and totally bespoke fabrication. just buy a ferrari dino instead!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1977-S-FERRARI-208-GT4-Dino_W0QQitemZ120349701714QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item120349701714&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A7%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

By today's standards, that's barely enough for a food blender (as Jeremy Clarkson would say) :p

I reckon to make any sort of drastic engine/drivetrain conversion worthwhile, you'd need at least 300bhp. Which is, of course, what you get in an Audi wagon/estate these days. ;)

As for that Ferrari - Pah! A 2-litre V8? My 164 would be faster :D But, the Ferrari 208 is a lovely car nonetheless.

I guess what I'm saying is that power isn't everything, but to the original poster of this thread, it probably is.
