no no no no no!

Best part of the current Punto is the slim headlights.
What's with this trend for big goggle eyed cars?
It looks bad.

ok in rally guise it looks better...but the old one still does it for me...the headlight on the old one make it look MEAN...this new one looks like a chuffing s**troen!

As i said to mother the other day, 'Beryl says she can't play with the gramaphone after 7 as the crow flies in the sky eating a pie'

wise words indeed.

The good points of PuntoII restyling are under the dress:

ENGINES:

The MULTIJET technology takes off with its Diesel engines, fuel economy and extraordinary performance:

- 1.3 Multijet 16v, 70 bhp and reliability for a smooth exciting drive in every situation thanks to the high-pressure direct injection rationed into five phases to calibrate the fuel only upon actual demand.
- 1.9 Multijet, same technology as the 1.3 model but with an electronic waste gate valve to flexibly manage its 100 bhp.
To complete the Diesel range, there is the tested 1.9 JTD Common Rail with 85 bhp.
FIRE AND NATURALPOWER, A RANGE OF ALTERNATIVES.
Five Multipoint petrol engines to suit all driving styles, including a duel fuel supply system of methane and petrol.
Fiat Punto is always moving toward new targets of performance and economy, all to the advantage of the environment. With the innovative 1.4 16v (95 bhp), the FIRE RANGE reaches the top of its category in terms of comfort, power and consumption levels. The heart of this evolution is the ECU which alone coordinates all the functions on the basis of the engine torque demanded by the driver through the accelerator.
Dual fuel supply system, minimum emissions, running economy and maximum user safety characterise the new NATURAL POWER: it runs on methane or petrol for 260 km, guaranteed by the dual fuel tank with a 65- litre capacity.

GEARBOX

Fiat Punto is the first car in the segment to combine the Multijet engine with the new robotized DUALOGIC™ gearbox. Fun and reliable, it is based on the electro-hydraulic automation of a manual gearbox and it has three operation ways that interpret the suggestions of the driver based on the position of the accelerator and the RPM.
Moreover, Fiat Punto proposes the electronic SPEEDGEAR™ gearbox fitted with a joystick and either automatic or sequential operation, the new FIVE-SPEED GETRAG, smooth and silent, and also a SPORTY 6-SPEED GEARBOX.

COMFORT

The handling of the new Punto is truly exquisite with EASY DRIVE! When you shift into reverse, a sound signals the distance from the obstacles outside your field of vision. With the first droplets of rain, the windshield wiper automatically starts and regulates its frequency based on how heavy the rain is. By setting the cruise control, you can travel relaxed on long-distance trips thanks to the parking sensors, rain sensors and Cruise Control, all with controls on the steering wheel.
But the state-of-the-art devices of the new Punto do not end here: to be informed of the trip parameters there is a Trip Computer integrated into the new multifunctional display, while the onboard telematic system has a satellite navigator with radio and CD player or the Connect OBN with a complete hi-fi system.
The perfect travel comfort is also provided by the AUTOMATIC DUAL-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL – which differentiates between the temperature of the driver side and passenger side – and the CD and MP3 player. The passenger compartment becomes a large concert hall with a CD changer on the instrument panel, subwoofer (100 W) and radio controls on the steering wheel as well as on the panel.
Travelling with the new Fiat Punto really means heading toward new horizons of comfort!
