And they say WOMAN are better Drivers?
Sorry about the woman crashing into yo but get car on ramp to check damage to [chassis] ect.(y)

Mybe she was on phone and playing a tulu plus driving as woman are better at ??????(y)

A colleague's '05 Yaris was side swiped by a woman who pulled out without looking. My colleague was pushed into the opposite verge. The damage looked like a slightly detached bumper and a wing ding, but the insurers determined the chassis was deformed, and wrote it off. She has just got £3,600.

She has replaced the Yaris with a two year old C4 1.6 Diesel, 40,000 miles and fully specced. I think she paid c.£4,500 for the Citroen.

it will go to the garage on monday i think they will pick it up, i think its worse then it looks, the steering was really bad and the wheel has been pushed in lots, do u think i would get at least £1000 for it? if it is written off?

In this climate and current economic state you will be lucky to get a grand for it, i dont think you will get anywhere near it, probably half of that £500

Everyones tightening their belts, insurance companies as well

well every where i look theres puntos same as mine and even a couple years older and there selling for £1200 -£1400 £500 is a bit low my brother works for vospers and said i should get around £1000

Basically technically they've got to pay you what it would cost to replace the vehicle, so the price of the vehicle and what it would cost to physically get another one. But not many people know this so they try to pay just what you'd get if you sold the car.

Go onto eBay and see what they're going for. If need be print off and quote listings (y)

Hope it will be repaired though.

Jon.

If they do write it off, don't just accept their first offer, it will be on the low side. As MEP has said get quotes for a replacement to back up your refusal.

Good luck

so if they ring me and say its a write off and offer me something an amount thats very low what do i say i dont accept that i dont know my rights on this, i have been looking on ebay and auto trader and all the cars i found that are in the same condition as mine some even with stupidly high milage are still over a grand i have saved the sites but my printer is not working so i cant print them off.

they probably havent have loads of scratches down the side, a damaged/buckled wheel and potential suspension damage

note how much he bought it back for, and its not much older than yours and has less damage

If they ring you up, say you don't wish to discuss the matter over the phone, and that your only willing to do it in writing. That way you A) have an audit trail for yourself, B) don't trip yourself up on the phone (I'm forever doing it ), C) will give you more time to think about what you want to say, and read through what they're written to you (y)

thanks for all your help i will have to wait and see what happens now i get the hire car tomorrow and the garage is meant to ring me to let me know whats gonna happen and when they will pick my car up, i just wanted to get all the information i could before the garage takes it, my brother has coem round and had a good look and he said it will be a write off for sure, he friends girlfriend had the same happen to her 3 years ago it was a fiat punto same as mine was but was a year older they offered her £1500 she said no and they came back and offered her £2000 for it i know that was 3 years ago.
