well every where i look theres puntos same as mine and even a couple years older and there selling for £1200 -£1400 £500 is a bit low my brother works for vospers and said i should get around £1000
Don't Vosper make naval vessels? Just wondering why your Brother's place of work should make him an authority on car insurance. The purpose of insurance
is to put you in the position you were in before the incident. So, for argument's sake, if you owned a 1999 Punto with X amount of miles on it, in perfect condition before the crash; then after the collision you should be able to buy a near identical vehicle in the same condition. Personally, I would trawl the internet sites of as many FIAT dealers as you can and print off the most expensive '99 Puntos you can find. You might also point out that it would have been the easiest thing in the world to pop into your local Casualty dept. and then put in a claim for whiplash. But as you are a person of honesty and integrity you wouldn't do that. Because of that you also expect other people, such as the insurance company to act with equal integrity and cough up.

They won't write that off, a new wing from fiat only costs £47. Steering rack isn't dear either.

Ok, add a wishbone to the list. I'd be surprised if the leg has shifted.

they will write it off i bet...

new front bumper
new wheel
new trim
new tyre
new wing
headlight
paint
spraying labour
fitting
plus what ever suspension part is bent.

plus it will need undershielding of the wheel, plus bumper supports replacing

my brother is a macahanic vospers is a fiat dealer.
DOH!! What a stupid idea, having a FIAT dealer with the same name as a boat
yard. That was a trap just waiting to be sprung by some prat walking into it. How can I recover some semblance of respectability; aha, I know, you don't spell mechanic like that. Smug self-righteousness regained. Goes off to make some coffee feeling superior.

Hmmm the chasi dosent look too fubared to me... from the angle of the crash the leg wont be bent which is always good, as for the wheel and steering wheel it looks like a wishbone... for the light steering has anyone thought of a bent trackrod end???

scrapyard wing and bumper in correct colour, easily DIY fitted, problem sorted for less than £50 no tears involved.

1999 punto mk2s still go for over £1500
dream on, even a 99/00 sporting isnt worth £1500 any more unless its a low mileage FSH minter. a lot has changed in the last 6 months.

not talking about sportings though.

the 8v elx or 16v elx usually sell for more and 99 puntos are still over £1500 here with black bumpers and wind up windows cos been helping my mate look at cars.

looks easy enough to fix, but the cost of new parts, plus paint and labour will probly make the insurers write it off.

Looks like wing, bumper, possibly track-rod end, maybe wishbone (but unlikely unless the ball joints knackered) and worst case front subframe. Its unlikely to have caused any further chassis damage as theres a fairly large cavity behind the wings on the MK2s, so the wing needs to be pushed back a fair distance before causing any major damage.

preferably i would sell it as a spare or repair my self, but if you have the money it looks like a quick fix from here..
