to avoid immob issues it will be cheaper and easier to fit another 1.2. i think the doblo uses the 1242cc 8v 64bhp unit, which is used on many fiats. the easist donor vehicle to find will be the mk2 punto. this will be a like for like replacement, so there should be no wiring differences to worry about. just stick it in then connect the wiring up and you're away. the original gearbox will fit no problem.

a better engine to fit would be the 1.9JTD 104bhp unit. this was originally fitted to the doblo so you can find all the bits you will ever need in scrapyards and motor factors and from dealers. there will be no one-off customisations that would be required to do it. you would need to fit the JTD engine complete with its loom and also get the ecu and immob codebox and the key chips to keep the immob happy. you'll also need a different fuel pump in the tank (if the JTD even has one in the tank, i'm not sure tbh). the gearbox is different, and i think the front brakes and suspension are too. the JTD is a much better engine, but its a lot of hassle fitting one so i think it would be better to sell your doblo as a working 1.2 and then buy a jtd doblo is that is what you want. it'll be cheaper that way.

there is always the option of sticking a 1.2 16v lump in. its the same block as the 1.2 in your doblo so it will fit on the gearbox. the head is 16v so it gets much better performance than your 8v, and 80bhp. again a mk2 punto is your most likely donor (sporting and elx) although a fair few 1.2 16v stilos are around too. personally i would probably take this option if it was my doblo, but to make it economical you need to do as much as possible yoursel, such as changing the immob and ecu and sorting the keys out. then you only really need the services of a garage to swap the engines over. both engine looms connect to the car's loom in the same way so it is easy enough. the 16v will give you much better performance.

I have engine and gear box, straight out of a punto. 1.2 slight leak from engine. £80
