hi i am trying to install a alarm & immobiliser on my punto mk2 1.2 8v could you help me i need to know where to locate the following wires and their colours on my punto to connect, right indicator+left indicator, electric fan inhibit, door switch, ignition input, vehicle immobilisation, power supply, boot and bonnet switches, if you have any information on this type of insullation please help cheers:worship:

right indicator+left indicator
use the hazard warning switch, it does both indicators and its very easy to get to. i cant tell you the wire colout to use because i dont have a wiring diagram.

electric fan inhibit
your car doesnt operate the fan with ignition off so you dont need to do this.

door switch
all doors have a pin switch, its the pin that switches the interior light on. you can remove it by one screw to access the wires behind. i cant tell you the wire colour to use because i dont have a wiring diagram, but only one of the two wires will make it work correctly.

ignition input,
any ignition switched live will do, although you usually dont need to connect a switched live unless you want to use certain features such as auto door locking when you start the engine (its called anti-hijack and its very annoying)

vehicle immobilisation,
you already have a seperate immob fitted by fiat so you dont need to bother with this.

power supply,
use the glovebox light live, or the cig lighter live.

boot and bonnet switches
dont bother with them, they are not neccesary. opening the boot will trigger the current sensing system thanks to the boot light so the boot is covered anyway. if you want to fit a bonnet switch you can, it is very easy, but getting the wire inside the car can be tricky if you cant find the grommet hole to pass it through.

hi cheers for that info you make it sound easy, quote vehicle immobilisation,

how do you use the immobilisation fitted by fiat
a mk2 punto uses fiat code system2. there is a chip inside every key. this chip is read by an aerial around the ignition switch. if the code on the key matches one of the codes stored by the car then it allows the engine to start. if the code does not match or there is no code then the engine can not start. this immob system is far better than the one on the alarm you have bought.

where is the pin switch on the mk2 punto

if you open one of the doors and look in the doorway where the hinges are you will see a black plastic pin with a black rubber boot. push it with your finger and the interior light will go out. that is the switch.

hi jug on the mk2 there does not seem to be a plunger type switch that you push in to switch the interior light off
