Hi. Has anyone fitted a fiat x19 5 speed box into a 128? I've read somewhere that it's been done but it didn't explain how you get round the linkage problem. Cheers

would a strada if it's 5 speed? or even a tipo box fit? seeing as it's the same set up pretty much.

A strada box would fit but it's finding one thats the problem, but theres still plenty of x19's Cheers

i've heard of people using an uno box and regata box, there are a few fiats that use the same gearbox housing with the same single linkage but with 5 gears.

the x1/9 5 speed is from the 1.5 engine, so its gearing will be too long for the 128 imo.

An early Uno box would be easier to get wouldn't it?? Just get a low actuator one not the top shift. One problem though, the sway bar, anti roll bar what ever you wanna call it, it's in the way. Knock knock knock is what you will get.... Forget this if you have not got a sedan...

If you can get a straighter sway bar for the 128 cheaply let me know, cause I want a 5 speed too.
