when i got my car (one in sig) it came with two keys, one plain, the other with a single button in the middle for remote CL, which didnt work when i got it.
anyway, what would be the best option for repairing it? should i take it to fiat (who might charge an arm and a leg) or are there places i can take my key to be fixed?
i tried Timpsons, they had no idea.

and how much would i expect to pay? as well as the button being broke, the rubber shroud needs replaced.

(assuming the battery isnt the problem)
it usually takes 1 minute to fix with a soldering iron. the switch is soldered to the pcb, if the switch has come off then solder it back on.

if you cant see anything wrong, then you cant fix it, so you'll need a new key.

timpsons wont touch it because its fiat code system2.

how much does a new key cost then?

depends on the dealer but usually £120 for a remote key

If they can be programmed cheaply then a blank could be handy, erm there is services there but I'm not quite sure how I'd feel with someone knowing my cars details and having the means to enter it.

timpsons WILL cut and code a blank key.... but the only blanks on ebay are non-remote, from what i can see.

not on a code system2 car, they cant even read the code because it is encrypted. (i've tried on a mk2 punto and failed)
