Has anyone bought a new car from FiatSuperSaver? What was the experience like?

The have a stunning offer on the Pands 100hp and I would be very tempted if the test drive I have booked for Friday goes well.

Cheers in advance (y)

Come up against them a few times, but not had any dealings with them.

From what I can see of the website, and having spoken to a few Fiat dealer managers, they seem to be completely on the level.

Obviously they don't take part-exchanges, which is an issue to some, and you may have to wait a bit longer for the car, but I can't see any reason not to order your Panda from them. You certainly won't get the price matched at a dealer.

One thing I would suggest though, don't say anything to your dealer or you won't get the test drive from them.

Thanks for the feedback (y)

I mentioned to the salesman that I'd seen the car at a lower price than they were offering and he was still more than eager to book me in for a test drive

That does surprise me. Most salesmen won't even give you the time of day as soon as they know they can't sell you a car.

I never said that they couldn't sell me one. I said simply that I had seen one cheaper and he was surprised but still booked the TD. I don't think there is anywhere cheaper locally and maybe he thinks I'll crumble under pressure

Sorry if you took what I said the wrong way.

I meant 'couldn't sell you a car' as not being able to match the price, and I was talking about dealerships in general when faced with extremely good internet prices, not your dealership in particular.

To be fair, the local guys have a good deal. They have Panda 100hp's with 50 miles on clock for £8700 (in various colours) and a black one with 500 miles for £8500 - FiatSuperSaver only has blue ones at £8k (my second least fave colour, just above white).

I work 5 minutes from the dealer, while FSS are ~ 50 miles from me. The proximity of the dealer appeals big time, especially if there are any problems etc. Also, Fiat are doing 0% finance on pandas currently. Now I don't know if this applies to the 100hp or indeed to pre-registered cars, but if it does, it is many hundreds over the term of the finance ;)

I would say for the better colour and the fact you will have a better dealer relationship, that little bit extra money could be worthwhile!
One reason why I bought from my local dealership - yes, I paid slightly over the odds for a 100HP BUT, and a big but, I needed a car there and then - my Stilo had broken, and I was given use of a FREE Idea for 3 weeks whilst it was being inspected.

In the end, they had a 100HP in stock, not yet PDI'd, and ready for collection once deposit sorted - plus at a very cheap APR rate.

Sometimes, needs must.

I worked out what a dealer can sell a Panda 100HP for today, if they were willing to blow all the money out of it to get a registration, and it's only a couple of hundred pounds away from the FiatSuperSaver price.

I'm not saying they would do it, but there's nothing physically stopping them.

Thanks. Well I will certainly put the question to them if I like the car, especially if they can beat the best loan rate I can find on the High St (currently 6.7%)

I have another car so no real rush for me :)

You dont get anywhere if you dont ask, but just remember, they have limitations, and Internet deals have a lot less overheads etc than a dealer so they DO need to make a bob or two so that yuo have somewhere for warranty work etc.

Go for gold though, all they can say is no!
