Noticed 2day how many GP's there are knocking around, on a short trip of 6 miles just I saw 8!
On one particular roundabout there were 4 of us going around or joining it lol!
Mostly chemical grey and no green ones lmao, seems to be the favoured colour for GP's now that chemical grey... common now, so what you may say?

Well I wonder how the availability and high numbers will affect residuals? Too many around make them cheaper to buy used? And so worth less when we sell :(

PMSL I dunno bout that u bought an Alfa and the 2 makes are joined at the hip lol!

thats why i bought one, it would have cost over 20k new and i just paid 1500 for it. whoever bought it new must have lost a fortune.

pity the fool who buys a new fiat group car.
a golf gti would be cheaper to buy new in real terms, actually almost any car would be cheaper to buy new, even a hyundai coupe!

Reasonable point, but the smart money is NEVER on a new car of ANY make in my mind. Why I only paid £9,400 for my GP. Use it for work u see Jug, does lots of miles. All I expect is a reasonable return in 2 or 3 years, probably have 40odd k miles on it by then. I am a Classic car fan but the concern about actually getting to my destination would worry me in a Classic. GP was cheap, gives me what I expect from it and no more, thats what I paid for, and so far not disappointed TBH.

thats one of my laws (y)

even if i won the lottery it would be 3 years old at the newest. i cant be arsed with regulary warranty repairs and dealer visits and losing thousands of pounds.

:yeahthat: !

Let some company or leasing biz take the loss I say. Company owned or leased cars usually come with a good service history too as it doesn't cost the user bu**er all. Dis qt fancy a TDI Golf but got swayed by the "new-look" appeal of the GP, hence my starter Thread, and why I was wondering what the popularity of GP's would do to residuals. Do take the point about the FIAT badge, and really that is up to FIAT and it dealers to fix, but while people buy 'em, they wont change owt. Now I am a party to that theory I know but how hard can it be sorting out a brand name? Skoda have managed it with the VW tie up, and look at the rise in quality of "cheap n nasty" oriental cars, all done on reliability and q-q-q-q-q-quality lol!!

exactly, skoda is a perfect example, 20 years ago you got laughed at in the street for driving a skoda, now its a quality brand with a great reputation. i'd love an octavia vRS :yum:

Looked at a Fabia vRS but was from a car hypermarket so ditched the idea, specially when I saw all 3 examples had bright white side edges (about 12 cm's) to the seat squabs, now theres a daft idea if there was one! But the key thing is the brand now has a quality stamp, even tho the Fabia has its moments lol! I fancy a 5cyl Mjet Alfa tho I must say, huge looking engine but reet pokey according to my mate. I posted about it a while back, had a wierd coolant leak from engine front RHS that the dealer said was "normal coolant usage" lmao! Maybe he used to work at a FIAT dealers!!
