I have a '96 Brava 1.4 12v, when starting up, unless given a lot of gas (i mean a lot of gas) it stalls within about 20 seconds. the car is fine when running. Only on start up do i get this problem. The revs get lower and lower until it stalls. I followe dthe advice in the brava handbook and started the engine with the clutch engaged, but to no avail. Has anyone has the same problem or advise of what may be wrong?

Sounds like the mix is leaning out too soon. Poss water temp guage reading high.
