Have you tried a different insurance company??? is a renewal or new policy?

hmmm have you tried admiral??? When i wrote off by bravo last year and i renewed the policy with the car below it was £400 cheaper than the previous year... crazy i know! Also when i renewed this year it was far cheaper than any other, the next were elephant.com and also diamond! But i never got asked for imob details when i got a quote from direct and i just told them it was standard!

BTW when i wrote off the other bravo and shpped around for quotes for another car, it was a hell of a lot more expensive to insure a 1.4sx than a 1.6sx, with exact year etc... insurance companies are bo***cks!

Insurance companies are always crazy, also when you phone them up they give you a completely different quote to the internet!

Just keep asking around and tell the ones you phone what you've been offered to see if they can beat it because sometimes they will come down to meet you. Good luck.

CIS are usually pretty cheap, and they send an agent out to speak face-to-face rather than doing it all over the phone :)

Thats always good advice, to phone around and basically play one off against the other.

Both my cars are presently with Bell Direct, the underwriters are Admiral, so it is a good company. I always shop around though, for the sake of a few internet entries. We got 9 points on two licences, [V] , but premium not that heavily affected.

Is it a factory fitted one, or one put in afterwards?

phone direct line and ask to speak to a manager, they insure my punto and i only say its got factory fit imobiliser! don't think you will find a cheeper insurance company than direct line at the moment they seem to be cutting prices like mad,
my punto has the missis as main driver me as named full no claims it was £220 last october, just got a renal for mercedes 190e me as main driver missis as named full no claims £187 it was £350 last year. both fully comp.

I agree Direct Line are good, but do they still NOT offer a courtesy car if yours is in for repair, say.

This is the only reason I don't ever get them to quote me!

Ah, thanks for that. They didn't use to, and it is imperative on both the policies that we get courtesy car. Will check them out at renewal time :)

My insurance company are the same as most of yours - factory fitted seems to suit them. Have you tried Diamond whitewabbit (take advantage of sex discrimination while you can), they offer legal services and a courtesy car as part of the standard policy and were very cheap for me.
