Has anyone been able to read the IAW 4AF flash files through OBD with the KWP2000 PLUS? It lists 4AF and will get the ECU details but won't allow me to copy the flash off.

Has anyone managed it, or tried it with the ecu out of the car??

Cheers,

KRistian

Dont know if this is still relevant or if anyone cares anymore, given the age of the post. The problem is you need to put the ECU into boot mode. This will allow you to read the contents of the flash.

AFAIK this is the case for the aforementioned ECU using either the KWP2000/+ or Galletto clones, and was the case on my Stilo Abarth (Motronic 7.3.1H4).

I also remember seeing an unanswered post from the OP over on the chiptuners forum? Did you get anywhere with it?

Morning all - just a drive-by - I've been hunting down the Boot Mode for months, trying to get my Galetto to virginise the IAW59 . . .

HOW do I read the 1KB flash section, which is mapped (and physically) elsewhere than the 256KB operating system eeprom ?

I kno the Galetto WRITES to the small flash area, as I can change the running software and find that the new revision data is written as the ECU ID in that space. I just can't get Galetto to offer me better access to that area. I suspect that 'Boot' mode will temporarily overlay the 1K flash into
the main eeprom area.

ANY help would be gratefully etc etc

best regards - Graham
