wether you agree with the politics and shennagins behind the reason why thosands of troops are out in iraq, afghanistan and any other warzone, the scandals that have appeared over their healthcare on return after injury and wounding is shameful in the extreme, even in the US the shocking state of treatment at walter reed has become a national scandal.....perhaps following the lead shown by texas:

is something the british armed forces could look at....seeing as how these personnel volunteered, seems looking after them properly is a small price to pay

The whole situation is (I'm informed) a total joke, especially as the Royal Hospital Haslar, in Gosport, is now closing it's doors to military personel. Just another sign of the governments attitude towards the forces. I can't comment of conditions in Military Hospitals, with the exception of Radiology at the RH Haslar, but Mr Blair and his gang seem all too eager to send wave after wave of troops all over the place, but seem to forget that some of them will be coming home with more than a grazed knee, especially with the tactics used by enemies over seas. The comments made by the government that a soldiers body is the same as a civilians body may be true, but the nautre of combat wounds is totally different to what you'd see in an average A&E department. Combat wounds are usually much more traumatic, and a great deal of doctors have never even seen a gunshot wound, let lone had to treat one.

And the govenment wonders why it's armed forces have such a problem with recruiting/retention.

The dead and wounded are brought home to Brize Norton under the cover of darkness as well. Seems that B*****D blair doesnt mind sending them of to fight and in some cases be killed or maimed,all on the strength of a lie (wmd) with a fanfare,but no one from the government sees them home,lying ,hypocritical assholes the lot of them. We dont look after our old and wounded soldiers with anything like the care and attention they deserve and have earned.
