I started going to some trak days at oulton park and anglesy late last year, i have been to a few - always the passenger - never the driver (not brave enough yet) My friend has an hillman Imp (race standard - very nice car) and there are always loads of cars there different makes but NO FIATS. I went to Donnington Park there was the first HCRM there yesterday and again there was NO FIATS.

I was well gutted not one fiat was racing[V]

Where are you?? we need some fiats racing out there!!!

I will have to save up and get a Fiat out there!!!!:D

Fiat don't make many cars that would be well suited to the race track do they? Fiat focus (mainly) on other factors - well recently anyway. Maybe there aren't many "old" fiats for this purpose due to their lack of reliability and fondness of rust?

Disclaimer: Not saying this is true for all Fiats!

Uno 1.0ie Start. Standard.

I am a schizophrenic currently so please bear with me whilst I try to get rid of the 40+ personality.

My friend races a Hillman Imp - great car for racing but obviously not made for that purpose. Also plenty of Austin Metros - again not the best car but if they are race spec then I would assume they'd be great. Also engines from fiat 126 are used for grass tracking and some of the shell grass trackers use too, so I would assume fiats would be the business.

I guess you'd need an old 127 GT, or a Strada 130Tc, or even an old Mirafiori 131 Sport in order to race an old FIAT and I suppose that most of them rotted away and the only ones left are probably in concours condition and not race fit! :(

I suppose an Uno Turbo might do too!

FIAT Stilo Sport. Pretty Much Bog Standard Really. Rear Roof Spoiler,
Sill Protectors, Aluminium Foot Pedals, Eibach 30mm Drop Springs.

My Grandad once had an Imp and I've been told he put a high-compression had on it. Was like s**t off a stick, apparantely:D

come across the water and there is lots of FIAT cars on the circiut. old 127's, 124's alsorts of stuff. have a look for some Fiat New Zeland websites, you'll be amazed! have to say tho, that doesnt help your cause for the UK racing does it! doh!

Its a shame you dont see Fiats on tracks but you DO see them in the Auto grass racing in fact the cento's are quite common and very competitive here in the UK.

The problem with racing Fiats is they do not manufacture any really fast cars any longer.Coupe production was stopped in 2001,and the ones left are getting old. It`s a pity, because they were really something to drive. I still miss mine, but I was getting too old and stiff for it.
Fiat seem to have handed over sports cars to their Alfa wing.
With a bit of luck the Punto Abarth will help redress the balance.
