(i am not trying to start fights or anything here. i am just asking about a book written by a very clever man)

Bought it for my sister for Christmas.

No, not yet.

Dawkins is a very good writer and his clarity in this books is so well carried across to the reader.

very good read for any one interested in a book like this. everyone should give it a go

I am already enough of an atheist to be honest.

Well I havent read the book but here is a view of mine. I cant see how people think we evolved. Things (animals, plants, humans etc) are too ferfect to have come out of no where. Everything in the human body would have had to evolved so fast and at the same to for it to work. So all organs would need to come about some how at exactly the same time and work, oh then you would have to evolve skin for it...doh... So lungs but no heart = dead. lungs and heart but no liver = dead etc. Also 1st john 5:19 says something like...we know we oringenate with god, but the world is lying in the power of the wicked one. So just because crap things happen in the world doesnt mean there is no god because he isnt ruling..... YET!!!

i dont get how the bible says god created adam and eve who were meant to be the first 2 people, why after that were their cavemen and the like lol

Jami I'm assuming your an advocate of Intelligent design?

No but you can feel and see an impact of wind, you can also explain it using science of high and low pressures (or high and low temperatures), you can also create it yourself and comprehend the atomic level that it goes down to, it satisfies both laws of thermodynamics and can be used for benefit. It fits in with all of our understanding of science and physically exists (through feel) and can be predicted.

Yeh and all the creatures and plants and the Earth etc show the impact of an intelligent design

I'm not trying to take the ****. It's christain science.
Don't belive it myself but learned a long time ago people with faith prefer it to reason. So I don't try argue it against it now

Don't be silly, cavemen didn't exist This is proven by the Flintstones, in which they have conquered the use of wheels and stones, but this happened before the stone age therefore must be incorrect. If you disagree with this then see the general answer to anything which makes belief in God difficult.*


*God put neanderthals on the planet underground so that we could find them (by His Almighty choice) to test us in our belief, if we don't believe then we will go to hell. If this isn't a good enough answer then see the second method.**

**The bible is not a fundamental reflection on how the world was created, Adam and Eve are just metaphors for the creation of the planet Earth. You may well have done but Darwin's evolution explains that gene pools with such mistakes were wiped out. If however you are impacted by mutations of cells, your offspring may have such problems, backed up by genetic theory. Still no God involved.

lol many years ago didn't the church used to take land off members of the church as well as people who did not beleive because they were killed for not beleiving

Intelligent design is really just religion's recent attempt to try to explain what can't be explained properly by God, despite actual substantive and fundamental theories explaining it without a number of assumptions.

Of course, how else do you think the farce of religion did so well? You believed publically or were literally hunted down and locked up or killed. Even I would believe following that. Let's not mention the RC vs. CofE farce which meant two people couldn't live together that believed in the same God. I am sure God would be a strong supporter of that.
