That time of year again...

sounds like a crap deal.

Fully fitted Kitchen
Two bedrooms
Gardens to the front and to the rear
Fully Furnished
Driveway

even poor people get a driveway in the north east. and a garden to have bbq's in the rain (northern tradition)

I'd have that in Manchester in a shot lol. I could entertain properly and everything, even wash my car on the drive... ;)

I am considering moving outside of Manchester and commuting on the train or by car to try to improve the place I can get.

student houses are OK, BUT you don't meet as many people, or get exposed to as many girls and dodgy parties etc. hence I'm staying in halls again

NOT HALLS! halls are for the kids. you obviously havent witnessed the student house scene yet. the parties are far wilder, involve more people, last longer, and you get to involve non-students too, which is always interesting. and the police will even pay regular visits if you're really good. move out now or you'll miss your chance!

I'd much rather be surrounded by insecure yet hugely drunk freshers than mackems ANY DAY.

maybe in nicer parts of the country, but sunderland is just made up of them ugly little 2 down 1 up bungalow things, 10's of thousands of them, and the contents of which aren't much better.

And from mates that are in houses, they are having a far quieter life overall now, and their parties dissapate pretty quickly, ie. never making it to sunup.

on panns (halls by the riverside) parties tend to build momentum until lectures start the next day, then I (and sometime others) either go to lectures absolutly wrecked (good fun, try it), or just pass out for hte duration of the day :worship:

YEAH, its a hard life:cool:

:( is depressing this lol

would post pic of what im getting for ~112k but have a few peeps who may find ff and dont want them seeing where i live :) 1 bed apartment :) (well flat, but same thing really, and a 2 storey isnt really a flat :p)

Yep £375 PCM has got me a 3 Bedroom detached house on a private estate with my own Garage front and back gardens and anti scutter alarm system :D. I just moved in at the weekend :). Words can't describe how happy I am .

Which of course is in the north east in a sunny little town called Woodham which is two streets away from some millionaires with mansions

i didnt post a pic of mine, just find pic of a similar one round the corner ;)

its amazing what a difference a few hundred miles can make to house prices.

Jesus Jug, thats a hell of alot of property for the money...

living as the crow flies 10 miles from london doesnt really help, along with a relatively mediocre wage :(

think i best find myself a rich girlfriend instead..., or better yet get to find out if any of the errr, hmm possible candidates are rich first... :D

or just move oop norf. :)

errr no thanks...

nah tbh, although myt salary atm is mediocre, the earning potential is very good, along with career prospects, plus familly and errr... yeah enjoyable company is all down in the south here... plus the accent... i cant understand it at the best of times, and i work with more nationalities than most

iv got a house sorted now :D

£268 per month but thats each and thers 8 of us....iv no idea if thats good or not haha

lurverly house tho :)

Depends on a lot of factors as to whether it's good or not :)

I couldn't live with 8 people, I know one person that did in their second year though!

damn i really need to reconsider where i live!!!!

saying that getting a property on one income doesnt help, be it rented or mortgage, unless you are earning healthy money and also have a v good credit rating (which i dont really... bu im sorting that one out)

ive looked at alot of house share options, but dont know if i could do that, not relaxed enough and still not really my space tbh

My ex-gf plays £160/week for a fantastic place in meadows, Nottingham, shared with 3 other girls. It has it's weaknesses but look at how cheap it is, although that's not a good indicator of prices there, they just got lucky.

I found a nice place outside of Manchester but it's rented until Christmas :(
