am going to rant a bit here as me friends are really getting on me nerves, all taking advantage of me being the only one with a car.

all expect a lift off me, no one asks.(n)

one lad who can drive said today he isnt going to get a car and spend loads of money on insurance and petrol so quite nastily i said "so your gunna use mine instead?"

none of em even contribute to petrol either, and i took some of em to middlesbrough on friday grrrrrrrrrrrr.

sorry for the rant.

Always make sure they pay up beforehand then. I give free lifts, but only if somebodies on my way to somewhere and going where I am. My mate alway's pays me to take him york when he goes to see his family.

ahhh micky, to be young, with a drivers license and access to your own car, the dream lives, and the flip side is always going to be friends mooching a lift of you.

personally i found it ok for the most part, as they always chipped in for petrol and juice as i was the designated driver, but woe betide the one who ripped the **** out of my datsun (notice the my bit, all my other mates had to rely on parents lending a car....) he found himself walking home from hammersmith to harrow at 4am.........

i do try but im too soft. during college today in our free we wer walking and ended in the carpark with people walking towards ma little car saying we were going to the town , nd i said "who said you could get in ma car" and i was ignored:eek:
i made the other people pay for parking tho

you need to cop on mate,:worship: you dont have "welcome" on your forehead so dont be a door mat.,.,
if they want a lift the least they can do is fill up the car..,,
put you foot down!!:bang:

Option number 2 is scare them with a bit of enthusiastic driving one night, you'll never have the problem again :) unless they like being on the brink of death

well ive already crashed me car with one of them in last year, but there not put off by that, sometimes comments are made tho. if they do anymore ill banish them from setting foot in her again

I was one of the first of the group during my college days to own a car. As we all walked the same route to and from college I was the obvious target as Mr Taxi. Didn't take any crap made it very clear it will all cost them every week. Got some stick back but they knew it was cheaper than a bus and far less hassle than walking. Think I was charging them basically for fuel and a slight extra to cover wear and tear.

Just force the issue, don't take the crap, take it like a man :D

I'll try that tomorrow after my exam, there's one lad who will be lurking near my car for a lift as usual

Why not go to your car, put something in the glovebox, close door and lock it up in front of this 'lad', then announce that you are getting the bus and encourage him to come with you. Do that a couple of times and then he'll stop hanging around waiting for a lift ;)

i prefer the wheel brace idea, because yours means walking, and maybe going on a bus
