Ouch! I bet you couldn't find a single piece on that car that is as it should be. I bet even the engine is severely bent.

I could say, shows how bad they are made, but considering I expect he/she was doing over a 100 into a solid concrete piece, having a car that practically disintigrates like that to save your life isn't bad!

I keep looking at it and it is weird because the strutural damage makes it look almost funny!

My first signiture (a lot of thought put into it): If you can't find the switch to switch your fogs off I am sure I can help you! Damn fogs.

i'd say he was remembering the bit on his insurance policy about it not covering track days etc [^]

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, what do you want? cupholders? open door warning light? grow up!

LOl! It would be worse if he/she had borrowed his mates car for the track day as a favour... then he would be thinking about how to tell him.

I guess it would be even worse if he/she died - at least a car can always be replaced.

That's tragic, if it was a track day or birthday gift, I wonder how the owners felt?

Ah that'll T-Cut right out!!

I'll pass on his number to this local chap that removes the odd dent;)

I'm guessing if it was a trackday or birthday gift it would be well and truly insured for all that it's worth...

...Which is a bit of luck in this case!

I saw a similar thing happen to a porsche at the old Nurberg ring. W e wnet round the circuit in a coach of all things! and this porsche which flew past us (not hard, we were in a coach) was later seen about 7 corners later as a steaming wreck on the side of the track with a shocked looking driver scratching his head next to it.
Probably thinking how would he tell the wife!!

that is a sorry sight to see a Lambo in that state, still as long as the driver was ok, thats all that really matters in the grand scheme of things.

GoGoCinquecento, your burning up the quater mile!!

I have a track day sometime this year from a boots gift experience, I think I am either going to do the rallying or single seat grand prix experience at silverstone, this is putting me off it a bit!

OUt of interest, did you take it very carefully?

Your safer in your racecar round silverstone than you are in a Uno on the road, by far! Just think F1 cars tear round there at 200mph the run off areas are so big they hardly even hit the walls when they go off.

I had a go in a Ferrari at Thruxton, the instructor sitting next to me did nothing but tell me to go faster! bit embarrasing I was beaten by my dad by just 0.2 secs and he drives a Skoda...!

Richard, you haven't seen me go have you :p

As I said in a thread in the punto section, I had had lots of off road driving experience when I was young. I remember going go-karting etc. with my "I can barely ride a bike" friends. I always was the winner :p

In all seriousness, I expect I will be scared to death by the car! I am used to a 45BHP Uno - with, as you have stated, NCAP -27* rating - weighing quite a fair bit. Stick me in a higher powered lightweight single seater and AGHHH! I will enjoy it so much I am sure but I will be very slow I am sure, at least until I get confidence. Then I will probably spin, scare myself and family to death and be laughing all the way.

I guess you're right about the run offs etc. but you see some of the nightmares that happen in cars and you never want it to be you.

Did you enjoy the Ferrari at thruxton? I could never do very well on that circuit on TOCA touring cars back in my old days of liking racing games. Every time you got close to the grass you span and doing 160 odd around that back part means it is easy.

I am going to learn the Silverstone track by heart if i do chose that one, is that a good idea?

You'll be fine, I was driving a 45hp Uno at that time too. It's so much easier than you would think as the cars stick to the road like glue. It's nothing like on TOCA playstation where I couldn't keep the bloody thing on the track! Talking of track, there's a lot of it - you have loads of room even if you do go wrong.#

The only other thing I can think of was that it was LHD so the gearstick was on the wrong side, which is also not as hard as you would think! Yes I was nervous but yes I loved it!
