No Exaggeration!

I was doing 5 MPH to drop me mum off at the community centre and a Police van was coming the other way, there was not enough room for us both but no need for either of us to stop either.

I moved over to the left to give him way maintaining my 5mph when he swerved at me, I Stopped, put down my window;

Police man: What was that?

Me: "What was what?"

Police man: "have you got a license to drive?"

Me: "what?"

Police man: "You were all over the place just now it didn't look as if you were going to stop."

Me: *looks back and narrow road with no space to be all over anything* "Stop for what? I moved over, what was your dangerous manouver about?

Police man: "Is it your car?"

Me: "I think you stopped me cause I'm wearing a hood"

Mum: "I think so to"

Police man: "It is nothing to do with your hood it was to do with your driving we are just to check everything is in order and you have a license to drive"

Then 3 of his buddies came out to look over the vehicle, one blatently impressed with in interior colour coordination but he didn't say anything as he new we didn't get off to a good start cause of his collegue.

w4anker tried to crash me then say I was driving dangerously? fool!

I would have, but I honestly didn't have the time, I had to be somewhere before a certain time and he almost made me late.

He didn't even get out the van he just sent his mates, probably thought I would be uncooperative if he was present.

I need to keep my head warm, feel a cold coming on and don't wanna be sick, don't get sick pay no more and a few good parties coming up.

Trust you dave, you fat head :p

I should have taken the reg of the van thinking about it, I was too angry to think about it, just wanted to get out of there before I remembered my blackness and started swearing my arse off.

I got some sht like that a few weeks ago.

This unmarked police car (white pug 407), was driving like an absolute sck of sht, he was pulling out really slowly into oncoming traffic (in hatched areas) then slowly creeping past the huge line of traffic on my side of the road, whilst forcing the oncoming traffic over too.
If I hadn't swerved into the hardshoulder to let him in he would have hit me.

He wasn't making ANY effort to get into the available gaps, just wanted to cram in the smaller ones in a half assed manor.

when he tried to ram me off the road, I honked and flashed, then he pulled me over because i was 'intemidating him'

what a load of bull, then they tried to make me dump a load of stuff on the side of the road as it was blocking the rear window.
so I explained that if I was driving a panel van, it wouldn't have a rear window, or if I had three people in the abck I also wouldn't be able to see.

Basically he was a prick that couldn't drive, and he was teaching two other 'officers' how to drive like a dangerous prick too.

I did get his name and reg, and reported him at sunderrland police station, who weren't interested because the offending pricks were part of durham force.
and I wasn't exactly going to drive to durham, so left it.

saddistic twts:yuck:

Still not too late. Put in a general compliant. They should be able to work out who was where at what time? After all, that's what they normally do :D

You know what? seeing as it seems to be that letter writing time of year I might just do that, they must have been from 'West Hampstead', 'Queens Park' or 'Willesden' those wear the nearest police stations at the time of the incident, I'll tell them to reference it against the check they did on a Fiat Tipo play House Music ;)

you drive around with your hood up and you complain about getting pulled over?

old car + young driver = no insurance (not always obviously, but more often than for other drivers)

old cars usually mean you cant afford much, so things like tax, mot and insurance are less likely, add to that a young driver (esp. a hoody) and you have an irresistable target for the police. i dont blame them for targeting kids in old cars, if you play the percentages they're the best people to go after. i dont want some uninsured 16 year old in an F reg cavalier writing my car off.

i used to get pulled regularly in my mk1 orion ghia, 3 times in a day once! i was 20 when the car was 15. i learnt to carry my MOT and insurance in the car, and when they asked for it, give it to them, then continue on your journey. the inconvenience is worth it if it means there are less uninsured drivers on the road.

I never complained about being pulled over, when my car was new to the area I used to get pulled over all the time.

My complaint is with the attitude of the officer and intimmidation technique used to stop me.

I drive around with my hood up and my fog lamps running I don't complain about being pulled over I was pulled the other night, I was followed for a bit but they followed me too long then I had to park. I got out my Tipo, they got out the van asked a couple questions, everyone was smiling, then did the check while following me. They asked my name and the registered keepers name then they said cool have a good night then we parted.

Not a problem. Why try crash me, make a poor crticism of MY driving when he was the one who couldn't keep his van straight?

Erm, why do you drive around with fog lights on, when A: It's illegal to do so when it visibility is greater than 50 yards and B: It gets you pulled by the Police when they're used in the wrong conditions?

Just wondering, because I'd rather not get stopped by the Police so I'd keep them switched off therefore not giving them any more excuses to pull me over.

Hoodie + front fogs + old car = you might as will have a big sign on your car saying "Mr. Policeman, please pull me over"! :p
